Have you had a great experience at a restaurant
lately?
Did a salesperson at a store you recently visited, go out
of their way to assist you?
Did you enjoy meeting a new person recently at the bank, post
office, doctor's office, etc?
These are people that you can SILENTLY NETWORK with! Pay close
attention to conversations you have and try to always get
the person's name whether they're a server at a restaurant
or a clerk at the store. EVERYONE travels or wants to travel.
Drop them a quick Thank You note, thanking them for the service
they provided and let them know you enjoyed talking to them.
Include your business card in this note. You won't even have
to mention that you're in the travel industry but the next
time they need to travel or know someone who does, they'll
think of you.
Another great way to get the word out there that you are selling
the most exciting product in the world (TRAVEL!!!!) is to
send a letter to everyone you know. Everyone? Yes, everyone!!!
Carefully consider your circle of influence. A lot of people
think their circle of influence isn't too far reaching. Consider
the following contacts you probably have:
NEIGHBORS
FRIENDS
FAMILY, NEAR AND FAR
CHURCH MEMBERS
FELLOW CLUB/ASSOCIATION MEMBERS
YOUR DOCTORS AND THEIR STAFF
MEMBERS YOUR HAIRDRESSER/BARBER
BUSINESS ASSOCIATES, PAST AND PRESENT
P.T.A PARENTS/PARENTS OF YOUR CHILDREN'S FRIENDS
SPORTS TEAMMATES
COUNTRY CLUB/GOLF COURSE COMMUNITY MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, ETC.
ACCOUNTANT
ATTORNEY
ETC, ETC, ETC!!!
All of you have contacts in some or all of the categories
listed above and if you think about it, you'll be able to
come up with more!! Think of friends or relatives who might
be active in a group. Talk to them about letting their group
know you're in the business! Once people discover that you
are now a travel consultant, they'll think of you next time
the need for travel comes up for them personally or for someone
in THEIR circle of influence!
Travel is a product EVERYONE
wants. You should be the person to give it to them!
